Art of Forgetting-Remembering

by =wanderingsoul777

I can't seem to think straight,
And it tends to make me irate.

But neither life, nor death can make me feel
As alone as I do like when you aren't near.

I'll make-believe that I see your face,
And hope that soon we'll both leave this place.

No one else can know, neither angel nor demon.
Only us, captivated by these things which we dream in.

'Cause the Art of Forgetting is easy to do,
When the only thing I think of is you.

Trying to forget is the hardest part,
But I promised with you we'd make a fresh start.

We'd leave behind this fragile place;
Start anew with my love; your strength.

Our differences are many, Our likenesses so few,
Yet we bond the same, like best friends do.

I don't know how to tell you, or show you how I feel,
But I'll do my best through this life that's so still.

'Cause the Art of Forgetting is easy to do,
When the only thing I think of is you.

And then we remember our trials and tribulations,
Our messed up life and our odd relations.

We remember our fights,
Our longings, our rights.

Our life, it does
Extinguish our love.

But I can't help remember those things we held true,
You kissing, me speaking, "My dear, I love you."

'Cause the Art of Remembering helps you forget,
When the rest of the world hasn't met you yet.

We remember the grief,
Our love was cut brief.

I remember the feeling of solace and fright,
Oh, how I longed for your comfort, your might.

You remembered the bitterness, the selfishness, the greed,
And filled us up with unfathomable needs.

Yet these desires I've had to keep from you,
In fear of what you would say or do.

'Cause the Art of Remembering helps you forget,
When the rest of the world hasn't met you yet.

-----------------

When the Art of Forgetting becomes too much to bear,
Remember me dear, for I'll always be there.

And When the Art of Remembering takes you too far into the past,
Forget about your woes, my love, and we'll be together at last.

I've been working... hard. I hope you like this, as I seem to have a deep connection with this piece. Mhmm, I do.

Ha, I sound so infantile. Meh. I'm tired, so you can't blame me.

Just comment your thoughts, if you would like to. ^^

Sounds like your caught. But the transition from pain to poetry is amazing.

Lets start out with the content. The art of Forgetting. Amazing concept my friend. Amazing, you wonder where you might go with it and then when you see it, it hits you extra hard. You go through several emotions when illustrating the art of Forgetting. You take us through a wide variety of feelings, aspects, its fantastic.

Then the art of Remembering comes along and its night and day but its also very much the same. Its a fantastic display. Its amazing...truly. The originality is outstanding the concept of remembering and forgetting being an art and illustrating that...UGH! Fantastic!

Some things that (in my mind) need to be fixed "Neither angel or demon" (should be Neither angel nor demon).

Also "Our difference are many," (should be Our differences are many)

And "I don't know how to tell you, or show you how I feel," (you don't need a comma after you because you have "or")

"I remember the feeling of solace and fright," (I don't think you need a comma at the end, perhaps a period though.)

All in all this piece was entirely touching and amazing. I loved it so much...Kudos my friend
